When you send a RCYCL bag filled with unwearable garments back to us, the process begins with collection. All items are sent to our Australian hub, where they are carefully sorted by type and material, ensuring we know exactly what we have and the most effective way to recycle it.

 

Inspired by fashion, RCYCL was founded with the goal of fostering a meaningful understanding between the products we purchase, use and ultimately how they are disposed of.

RCYCL closes the gap between the fashion industry and textile recycling vendors, providing a convenient alternative to landfill disposal and giving the control back to consumers to decide what happens to their old clothes. 

RCYCL currently partners with major Australian retailers and various industries with the goal of providing solutions to any individual or company who wants to be empowered through maintaining control of the products they purchase.

Our Vision

According to The Australian Fashion Council, Australia is one of the highest consumers of new clothes in the world, equating to 15kgs of waste per person with over 220,000 tonnes arriving in landfill. Our service is to provide a convenient link between everyday people and textile recyclers, giving fashion consumers the control over what happens to their old clothes.

We also want to raise awareness when shopping to build consumer knowledge about the overall lifecycle and subsequent impact of the items they purchase, though providing an easy to access recycling solution. 

Buy, Sort & Fill:

Our fully compostable bags make it easy to recycle unwearable clothes. Customers simply purchase a bag online, it will be send via your preferred delivery method and when received, fill it with items that are no longer wearable or suitable for donation.

Scan, Book & Send: 

Use our logistics partners to send your filled bag back to us. You can find your nearest drop-off point upon scanning your QR code provided within your order.

Transform & Renew:

At our partner facilities, clothes are shredded, spun into yarn, and either woven into new fabrics or needle punched to create carpet underlay. They can either be mechanically recycled or chemically managed through our trusted and vetted recycling partners. This process ensures every item is repurposed, reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill.

RCYCL return bag can save up to 20 'everyday' garments from landfill for a seasonal cleanse, school or sport uniforms or when a new workwear wardrobe is needed.
