Inspired by fashion, RCYCL was founded with the goal of fostering a meaningful understanding between the products we purchase, use and ultimately how they are disposed of.

The RCYCL service is designed to simplify clothing recycling, focusing on clothing that is not suitable for donation. When you send a RCYCL bag filled with unwearable garments back to us, the process begins with data. All items are sent to our Australian hub, where they are carefully sorted by brand, garment type and material, ensuring we know exactly what we have in our system and the most effective way to recycle it.

RCYCL partners with retail, freight, and recycling entities to create a circular economy solution.

 


According to The Australian Fashion Council, Australia is one of the highest consumers of new clothes in the world, equating to 15kgs of waste per person with over 220,000 tonnes arriving in landfill. Our service is to provide a convenient link between everyday people and textile recyclers, giving fashion consumers the control over what happens to their old clothes.

Natural cottons and fabric scraps are sent to advanced mechanical mills to be respun into new yarn or upcycled materials.

Polyester/cotton apparel blends that traditionally stump mechanical systems are routed to chemical technology facilities be dissolved back into raw polyester and cellulose.

Heavy industrial uniforms, branded PPE, and unwearable garments are matched to be shredded down into commercial carpet underlay, insulation, or innovative green ceramics.

As a last resort heavily contaminated textile remnants are redirected to generate green alternative energy, fulfilling a zero-waste-to-landfill mandate.

Each RCYCL bag comfortably fits up to 20 "everyday" garments (classified as t-shirts, shorts, and pyjamas; please keep in mind that bulkier garments will take up more space in your bag). Simply fill, scan your QR code to book your return, find your drop-off point, and hand it over.
